OUR FRIENDS

-

We continue with our daily lives, Husbands argue with their wives And life just carries on. The smallest things can so annoy, But then can bring unending joy, This life’s a marathon. We all think we can handle life, In our stride we’ll take all strife, But it’s all just a veneer. Scratch the surface, you may find A person with a fragile mind, Not quite as they appear. We shun all help by keeping quiet, But in our head there raves a riot, But nobody will know. Sometimes it needs a tiny trigger, Then that riot will grow far bigger, It drains you, top to toe. But sometimes tragedy can strike, Peace of mind then takes a hike, And leaves us feeling down. Then we need our friends on hand To help us up and help us stand, Ensuring we don’t drown. It’s then we draw upon our strengths, Our friends will go to any lengths To keep our heads above. At this vulnerable time we appreciate Our friends, who do not hesitate To lift us with their love.
