Experience unwanted

-

i APPLieD for a Christmas job at Boots (Letters), but was told i had failed the test and could not reapply for 12 months. it was suggested i use this time to hone my skills and gain experience.

i have worked in admin and retail all my life, and was a cashier when you had to add up the cost of items and work out the change yourself.

i emailed to say i was only looking for employment as a temp, not to be made the Ceo. Perhaps another employer who realises my worth will take me on.

HILARY GIRLING, Ipswich. i AM a senior staff nurse with many years’ experience, who took a two-year break when my husband was relocated.

When i then applied for a nursing job, i was informed i had been out of the NhS for too long and would have to do 100 hours of training at my own expense. A private agency was happy to employ me.
