ZAHA’S HATRED OF BRIGHTON IS 11 OUT OF 10!

- By KIERAN GILL

CRYSTAL PALACE’S players have revealed their dislike for Brighton ahead of tonight’s derby, with Wilfried Zaha (right) rating his hatred of them at ‘11 out of 10’. Ruben Loftus-Cheek has explained how he is being educated on the history between the two clubs as they prepare for the Premier League clash at the

Amex Stadium. The England international said: ‘A few of the players have been telling me about the rivalry between Brighton and Palace, so it is a massive game. ‘We were at a signing the other day, Wilf was being interviewed and the guy said, “How much do you hate Brighton on a scale of one to 10?” Wilf says, “11”, so that tells me everything. I didn’t know about the rivalry before Wilf said that. ‘I thought, “OK, they don’t like each other then”. So I’m looking forward to playing them.’ Loftus-Cheek, 21, scored his first goal for the club as bottom-of-the-table Palace beat Stoke 2-1 at Selhurst Park on Saturday. He said: ‘It was good to get off the mark and hopefully there will be some more. I feel like a first-team player at Palace. I’m really enjoying playing every week.’

The Chelsea loanee added: ‘I’m glad I came to Palace because I am getting the game-time I wanted and I am learning to fight with some good players. ‘We need to take this momentum from the past couple of weeks. We need to take this momentum into Brighton. ‘We will look to recover, get our bodies right for the game so we are physically ready for it and take it to Brighton and hopefully have a better performance and get the win.’
