... but Rolet will walk away with £30m

-

THE boss of the London Stock Exchange will walk away with almost £30m in cash and shares.

While Xavier Rolet has quit with immediate effect, he will be paid his £800,000 base salary for the next 12 months. He could also get an annual bonus worth up to £1.8m and will be handed shares worth up to £10.1m at current market prices over the next three years under long-term bonus schemes.

The LSE will cough up £25,000 for Rolet’s legal fees, taking his total pay-off to a maximum of £12.7m. He owns another £16.3m of stock outright, meaning he stands to leave with around £29m.

Rolet – who owns a vineyard and chateau in Provence, south-eastern France – has already earned £38.4m during his nine years in charge at the LSE.
