Working with parents and their kids? It’s child’s play!

-

CHANGING career with a children’s services franchise can be both fulfilling and flexible.

Jas Bansal spent seven years in corporate finance, before the birth of her first child, Roni, prompted her to transfer her business skills to a more flexible career.

She has now invested in her own Baby Sensory franchise, running exploratory sensory play sessions for babies and parents, which enhance early years’ learning and development.

The 38-year- old, from Alcester, Warwickshire, says: ‘I love helping parents enhance the bond with their babies and seeing them leaving classes feeling uplifted.

‘ I am helping to create precious moments when babies achieve milestones.

‘I chose Baby Sensory because it was an established and proven business model, and I can tap into a network of experienced and trained class leaders for knowledge, best practice and tips.

‘Launching something by myself would have taken more time and commitment upfront, and I would have felt a little lonely. The franchise also offers access to research on babies and toddlers.’

Ian Sharland, franchisor at Baby Sensory and its sister franchise Toddler Sense, says: ‘We look for franchisees with self- confidence and enthusiasm, as well as an interest in working with babies and young children.’

The Baby Sensory investment is £7,450, including initial franchise fee, training, equipment, music, lessons, books and support.

Meanwhile, former banker James Jennison, 35, from Derby, owns six Premier Sport franchise territories in the Midlands, offering sports coaching to children.

‘ We work with more than 130 schools and 10,000 children weekly,’ says James, who runs the business and employs coaches to teach the children.

‘Knowing that we are positively impacting so many children is a fantastic feeling.

‘Premier now offers a wellbeing programme to support schools in implementing a whole- school approach to healthy living.

‘As a franchisee, this allows me to target new markets in nurseries and children centres, but also parents and teachers.’

Karl Fox, operations director at Premier Sport, says: ‘ We offer franchisees the chance to turn their love of sport into a business.’

The franchise costs from £14,950. BaBy Sensory, 01722 323454; Premier Sport, 01953 499040.
