Now Uber is facing a ban in Sheffield

UBER has had its licence suspended by the city council in Sheffield. The authority has accused Uber, which is also fighting a ban in London, of failing to respond to requests to reapply for its licence after a change of management.

The suspension will apply after December 18 unless the taxi hailing giant appeals, which it plans to do.

Uber blames an administrative error and says it contacted the council before its UK boss left in October to change the name on the licence. It claims letters from the council about the issue went to the wrong address.
