Recognise who’s playing Demelza’s new Poldark pal?
AT first glance, they look like a couple of extras taking a golden opportunity to pose with the stars of Poldark. But look a little closer, and it is in fact Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders looking thrilled to be so close to their idols. Their Christmas show will see the double act reunite for their first TV show in ten years. In one of the sketches – which may rather resonate with female viewers – they discuss Poldark heart-throb Aidan Turner’s chiselled torso as they sneak their way into the cast on the hit BBC drama. Despite looking the part, they fail to impress production chiefs by speaking too loudly above actors Eleanor Tomlinson and Jack Farthing. During their hotly-anticipated reunion, called 300 Years of French and Saunders and airing at 10.35pm on BBC One on Christmas Day, they will also lampoon other TV shows including Channel 4’s Gogglebox.
