CHRISTMAS EVE

Light the candles, ring the bells, And raise a glass of cheer. Gather with your loved ones When Christmas Eve is here. Sing the carols, talk and laugh, It’s time to celebrate. Enjoy the special feeling On this special date. Count your blessings, one by one, Give thanks for all that’s yours, And hope for something special To arrive with Santa Claus. Raise your eyes, gaze at the sky. Perhaps some snow will fall. Then call out to the whole world: ‘Merry Christmas to us all!’ Judith Blatherwick, Garvald, East Lothian.
