Mamma Mia! My posh new phone keeps calling 999

MAMMA MIA 2 star Jeremy Irvine, who plays the young version of Pierce Brosnan’s character, has narrowly avoided a run-in with the police after making calls on his new £1,000 iPhone to emergency services — by mistake.

‘I’ve bought a phone which has new Face ID. I was really excited but it keeps calling the police,’ Jeremy, 27, tells me. ‘It happened twice while I was at the gym. I had my headphones in and suddenly the music stopped and I heard: “Hello, emergency services? Ambulance, police or fire?” I was like: “No! No thanks!”

‘When it’s in your pocket there’s something you press three times and it sets it off. Design flaw, I think.’
