Clarke seals Cardiff’s third straight defeat
CArDIFF’S Christmas to forget continued as Tom Clarke’s 90t- minute winner gave preston victory. After defeats to Bolton and Fulham, this was a third straight reversal for neil Warnock’s men as they lacked any sort of attacking threat and produced another underwhelming display. And with seconds left on the clock, the hosts failed to clear a preston corner and away skipper Clarke nodded home from inside the sixyard box. preston created the better first-half chances through Daryl Horgan, paul gallagher and Alan Browne. And after the break it was more of the same: lee Tomlin had a header saved and Horgan again fired over, before Clarke’s late winner moved preston to within a point of the play-off spots.
