Clean up at the Palace for £17k

-

FANCY being a dogsbody for the Queen? Her Majesty is advertising for flunkies who can ‘make sure every item is in place and presented to its very best’ at Buckingham Palace.

The ‘palace attendants’ will be paid less than £17,000 a year, but offered live-in accommodation ‘for which there is a salary adjustment’.

The advert on the royal website explains that successful applicants’ roles will involve helping to assemble a table ready to seat 200 guests and ‘moving furniture and carpets along with the extraordinary works of art and priceless antiques’.

The ad gushes of the post’s appeal: ‘ It’s the collaboration and the community spirit.’ It certainly won’t be for the money.
