Tiffany’s sparkling Xmas
WEALTHY shoppers are splashing hundreds of pounds on silver corkscrews, yoyos and even straws as luxury jeweller Tiffany & Co revealed booming sales.
The US brand said its new ‘everyday Objects’ range, which includes a silver and walnut ruler for £425 and a £305 shoe horn, was popular with Christmas shoppers.
The most expensive product is a sterling silver ball of yarn, costing £8,475.
Tiffany, which is known for its diamond engagement rings and robin’s egg blue boxes, posted a turnaround on 2016’s lacklustre Christmas sales to see worldwide sales rise 6pc and like-for-like store sales increase by 3pc.
In europe, total sales rose 5pc but likefor-like store sales fell 7pc. Tiffany has 11 UK sites including standalone stores and concessions in Selfridges and harrods. Customers in China, hong Kong and Korea, boosted sales in the Asia Pacific region by 16pc to £167m.
