Q Should I moisturise my skin more in winter?

A THE combination of central heating and the dry, cold air outside draws moisture away from the body and can cause the skin to dry out. So moisturising more at this time of year is probably a good idea, particularly if you suffer from eczema — flare-ups are more likely during the winter months. It’s also important to stay well hydrated because this will help stop your skin from drying out.

Q WILL weighing myself every day help or hinder my diet?

A RESEARCH shows that if you weigh yourself every day, you’re more likely to succeed (in fact, you could lose six kilos more over six months compared with people who weighed themselves less frequently, according to a U.S. study in 2015, though these patients also had support in losing weight). Ideally, this should be done in the morning, before eating, and wearing similar layers of clothes.
