UNDER-FIRE KANE: I’M NO CHEAT

- By DOMINIC KING

HARRY KANE has hit back over Liverpool claims that he dived to win a penalty. Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk accused the Tottenham striker of going to ground too easily for the first spot-kick in Sunday’s pulsating 2-2 draw at Anfield. Kane was brought down as Loris Karius hurtled from his goal to cut out the danger. Kane missed the penalty but scored another in stoppage time after Erik Lamela and Van Dijk had tangled in the box. Kane said: ‘He (Karius) has dived. He has got in the way and I’m a player, I’m not going to jump out of the way. It’s football. I’ve definitely felt contact and I’ve gone down. ‘With Lamela’s one, I thought the linesman (Edward Smart) showed amazing character to give that. ‘A lot happened for the first one around the linesman (as Liverpool players appealed for offside), so to give that penalty was massive — and it was right.’
