Groves: Ban dopers for life before they kill us

- JEFF POWELL

GEORGE GROVES has called for boxers who fail doping tests to be banned for life. Britain’s Rio Olympian Muhammad Ali, 21, was suspended for two years yesterday after testing positive for anabolic steroid trenbolone. And Groves, who faces Chris Eubank Jnr on Saturday week, said: ‘If people are doing drugs, they should not be allowed to compete ever again. In boxing we’re not talking about someone cheating to run 100 yards faster than someone else, we are looking at putting opponents’ lives at risk. ‘Ours is a combat sport in which you can get seriously hurt.’
