Real cost of Brexit

-

THE forecasts of doom and gloom after Brexit are nonsense. Financial predictions are notoriously inaccurate, but the idea they can be accurate over 15 years overlooks the fact that three governments will have a chance to correct the situation. If they can’t, we deserve all we get.

CRAIG O’VINNY, Wilmington, E. Sussex. ECONOMISTS and meteorologists collect lots of data, use computer models and make intelligent guesses. Weather forecasts are only possible for the next few days.

Economists have more status, but no more certainty.

There is no such thing as hard evidence for the future. I would not have voted Brexit if I thought I would be poorer because of it.

R. J. ANDREWS, Farnborough, Hants. THE cost of Brexit will not be met by the likes of Boris Johnson, David Davis and the other hardline Brexiteers, but by pensioners and wage earners. A. PEARCE, Whitley Bay, Northumberland.
