Robodog that can let itself out for walkies!

-

THE chances are your dog has to wait patiently by the back door before you let it outside for walkies. This canine-looking creation gets out by itself.

In an extraordinary video clip, the fourlegged opens a robo-dog door using demonstrates an extendable angled how it arm. Like a scene from a sci-fi movie, it turns the handle, props the door ajar with a front foot – and then uses the hand again to force it all the way open. The creation, called SpotMini, was built by US robotics firm Boston Dynamics. It is also capable of climbing stairs and even doing the washing up. The company, formerly owned by Google, has already made a 5ft 9in humanoid robot that can stack boxes. Some found the clip disconcerting. One online commenter wrote: ‘This is one of the most terrifying things I’ve seen in my life.’
