£30k Swiss watch row
Hiscox has been cleared of a data protection breach.
The insurer was accused of asking wealthy policy holder Irfan Hussain to disclose previous convictions before it would pay out on the loss of his £30,000 luxury Swiss watch. Hiscox denied three offences and was due to face trial at Southwark Crown Court. But after Hussain was taken ill, and the prosecution decided not to seek a re-trial, the judge recorded a not guilty verdict.
