FROOME MISSES OUT IN SPANISH INQUISITION

CHRIS FROOME finished 10th overall in the Ruta del Sol in Andalucia, won by Belgian Tim Wellens. Froome was never in contention having started the time trial on the final day 14th. Froome’s Team Sky team-mates Wout Poels (17min 22sec), Dylan van Baarle (17:23) and David de la Cruz, who won the stage in 17:11, were all faster than the four-time Tour de France winner, who clocked 17:38.
