The report catalogues the cracked windows, flaking plaster and broken sleep caused by the 40-mile wide carpet of thundercla­ps caused by the sonic boom. Such a decision could lead to increased American and other sales for the Anglo-French Concorde.

IVANA TRUMP, 69. The Czech-born former model (right) was Donald Trump’s first wife and is mother to three of his children (Donald Jr, Ivanka and Eric). Ivana said she still speaks to Trump once a fortnight but not too often ‘ because Melania is there and I don’t want to cause any kind of jealousy’, adding that Melania is ‘First Lady of America, but I’m First Lady Trump, excuse me’. JIMMy GREAVES, 78. The striker scored 44 goals for England but missed the 1966 World Cup final because of a shin injury (Geoff Hurst took his place and scored a hat-trick). Last year, he remarried his exwife 59 years after they first tied the knot. The couple had divorced in 1977, reunited a year later and had been living together unmarried for 39 years.

KARL ALBRECHT (1920-2014). The German entreprene­ur, who founded supermarke­t Aldi with his brother Theo, was said to be worth £12 billion, making him the country’s richest man. The company’s name is an acronym of ‘Albrecht discount’ and the chain started with their mother’s single grocery store. The brothers rowed over selling cigarettes and divided the business in half. Theo’s ‘Aldi North’ sold tobacco but Karl’s ‘Aldi South’ remained smoke-free. ToNy WILSoN (1950-2007). The music mogul and broadcaste­r was described as ‘a cross between David Cassidy and David Frost’. He establishe­d Factory Records, the label of the Happy Mondays and New order, and Manchester’s Hacienda Club where Madonna performed her first UK gig.
