Grenade attack at US embassy

A SUICIDE bomber blew himself up after throwing a grenade into the US embassy compound in Montenegro.

No one was injured in the attack in the capital, Podgorica. The bomber was identified locally as Dalibor Jaukovic, 43, a Serbia-born Montenegrin citizen said to have been decorated after Nato’s bombing of Serbia and Montenegro in 1999.

The Adriatic state joined Nato last May, a decision that provoked violent protests by the pro-Russian opposition.
