BEN WOODBURN

THE Wales forward broke through at Anfield last season and great things are still expected of him. But his goal for Liverpool’s U19s against Manchester United in the UEFA Youth League this week served to remind us that we have not seen him at first-team level for a while. Woodburn has only played 45 minutes for Jurgen Klopp all season and the 18-year-old is no doubt learning that it’s tougher at the top than any of us ever really imagine.

CARABAO CUP FINAL

THIS season’s tournament has offered much but tomorrow’s match is fighting to make itself heard above the din of the Premier League. Put simply, Manchester United v Chelsea should not be taking place on the same day as the final. The significance of Arsenal’s meeting with Manchester City has been diluted by the presence of such a huge league match.

PAUL SCHOLES

The former Manchester United player has admitted that criticising his former team on TV bothers him and as such he should no longer be used by BT when Jose Mourinho’s team are playing. United were abysmal in Seville on Wednesday yet nobody on the panel or commentary team seemed to want to say so.
