BOTOX BOOSTER

I TRIED Botox for the first time 15 years ago, to smooth away my crow’s feet, frown lines and forehead creases. I had it every year until my late 40s, when I decided I didn’t like the frozen look. I recently tried it again at The Cosmetic Skin Clinic in London (£500, cosmetics kinclinic.

com), as I felt I needed a boost. The results were a lot subtler.

TRY TATTOOED BROWS

AS I’VE got older, my hair has started to go grey, and so have my eyebrows. Two years ago, I braved a brow tattoo at Tracie Giles’s salon in London. The Signature 3D Hair by Hair Brow treatment (£495, traciegiles.co.uk) is amazing: she draws hairs into the skin for a natural look. It lasts 18 months, so I don’t have to fill them in daily, which is a real time-saver.

NO PAIN, NO GAIN

I USUALLY get a £30 monthly Elemis facial at Debenhams. But last year I also tried a microneedling treatment (£200, aroma-beautyspa.com). They use tiny needles to stimulate collagen production, which was painful. My skin was red and blotchy for a week, but when this went down, the effect was better than a facial and lasted longer, for two to three months.

POWER TRAINING

I GOT into weight-training after a foot injury stopped me running. Now I see a personal trainer twice a week. It has completely changed my body shape — I finally have my waist back! Squats, in particular, have also helped get rid of my back pain and improve my posture. I do four sets of 15 each time, using a 60kg weighted bar.

MOTHER-DAUGHTER DUO

IT’S important to spend time around young people. I love going shopping with my daughter, at places like Zara, Topshop and Warehouse. She isn’t afraid to say ‘Oh no!’ if I pick anything too ‘mumsie’. She’s always pushing me to ‘stop picking black’ and be adventurous — my wardrobe is more colourful now she’s got older!
