Grime against music

-

I THOUGHT I was still ‘with it’, but after watching the Brits, I have changed my mind. I had no idea what they were singing about in their skimpy outfits. What rubbish.

BERNICE ISSITT, Spalding, Lincs. THE grime artist Stormzy can’t write songs, play an instrument or sing, yet he wins the best album and male solo artist awards at the Brits.

That must be a kick in the teeth for real musicians.

STEVE MITCHELL, London SE8. HOW patronising to assume that if you’re middle aged you wouldn’t know the artists at the Brits. I’m 61 and knew every one as I have an interest in music, old and new. Keep up with the times to stay young.

HELEN DuFFY, Richmond, Surrey. THE Prime Minister declined to use her power to grant the survivors of Grenfell Tower their request for a more diverse panel for the public inquiry into the tragedy.

They should go ahead anyway and appoint people to attend every session and prepare a report at the end. One of those people needs to be the grime music star Stormzy.

DAVID LINDSAY, Lanchester, Co. Durham.
