Palace has announced that Prince William is to make the first official visit by a member of our royal family to israel since it won independence in 1948. His itinerary for the summer tour has not been finalised but he’s expected to pay tribute to the grave of Prince Philip’s mother, meet the israeli PM and go to the West Bank Palestinian city of ramallah. i believe he ought also to visit the King David Hotel site in Jerusalem where, 70 years ago, 91 people (including 28 Britons) were killed by a bomb planted by Jewish terrorists led by future israeli prime minister Menachem Begin.
