Everest challenge Fogle: ‘I’m terrified of heights!’

FiVe weeks away from his ascent of everest with former Olympic cyclist Victoria pendleton, adventurer Ben Fogle has made a big admission: he’s terrified of heights.

‘i’ve always had a fear,’ he tells me of his challenge,

‘But i think you have to confront your fears — it’s a way to overcome them.’ Fogle, who is undertaking the climb ‘to highlight the invaluable work that the Red Cross does around the globe’, adds: ‘ i’m obviously nervous.’

‘i’ll be disappointed if i don’t reach the summit, but i’m also at a point in my life where it will be preservation over pride.’
