Leeds survive scare from Hull

LEEDS avoided embarrassment last night as they overcame a late Hull resurgence to gain a narrow victory. Leading 20-6 with 18 minutes remaining, the Rhinos looked to be home and dry after a brace apiece from captain Kallum Watkins and Tom Briscoe. Dean Hadley scored Hull’s only try of the opening 60 minutes, but they rallied late on as Jordan Abdull and Fetuli Talanoa barged their way over to put the result in doubt. Hull had a chance to win it in the last minute, only for Marc Sneyd’s last-tackle kick to go dead and kill off any chance of a comeback victory.
