Great golfing partners

-

MORE than 1.5million over-50s play golf regularly in the UK, enjoying both the health benefits and the social side of the game.

Now, the UK’s leading travel insurance provider, Staysure, is hoping its own passion for golf will encourage more of us to pick up a club and head for the fairways on one of the nation’s 3,500 courses.

With this in mind, it has become the first title sponsor of the European Senior Tour, renamed the Staysure Tour — a landmark moment in the history of this well-respected, exciting and competitive annual series.

The Tour and the trusted insurer are in perfect harmony, as Staysure grew from early beginnings in golf insurance. It is now recognised as the number-one travel insurer for people over 50, with no upper age limit on single-trip policies, meaning you can be covered and travel the world regardless of your age.

Able to provide cover for a wide range of pre-existing medical conditions and offering the highest levels of customer service, Staysure has more than 20,000 five-star reviews of its insurance policies on Trustpilot.

And its ‘excellent’ comprehensive cover has also been awarded the highest possible rating of five stars by independent moderator Defaqto.

More than a million customers a year entrust the protection of their holidays to Staysure, which offers great policy benefits at a sensible price.

The 2018 Staysure Tour will consist of a minimum of 18 tournaments for professional over-50s golfers, including victorious 2014 Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley, other former Ryder Cup captains and players, and European Tour winners. The first event, at Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, ends today.

There are new tournaments lined up in Russia, Denmark and Spain this year, as well as an inaugural headline event, The Staysure PGA Seniors Championship.

This will be played at London Golf Club — one of five major Tour events to be held in the UK. Other venues are in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, the idyllic Forest of Arden near Birmingham and Scotland, including the Old Course, St Andrews, which will host The Senior Open Presented by Rolex for the first time.

Meanwhile, the overseas roster includes Italy, the USA, France, Switzerland, Germany, Bulgaria, the Netherlands and Mauritius.

A national club contest, The Staysure Trophy, is also being created in partnership with the PGA.

And a new Staysure Club membership programme, which is free to join, offers members the chance to access complimentary tournament tickets, Pro-Am golf experiences, exn clusive competitions and discounts on a range of travel insurance and golf insurance packages.

The sponsorship deal tops off a very successful year for Staysure, which was awarded gold in the Best Travel Insurance Provider category at the British Travel Awards.

With more than 500,000 over-50s travelling abroad to play golf each year, the partnership is set to strike the perfect chord with the many customers who share Staysure’s love of golf.
