£ IN THE MONEY
THE Deutsche Bank boss did not get a bonus last year – but still took home £3m.
John Cryan and the board turned down bonuses after the lender slumped to its third annual loss. But Deutsche triggered outrage by more than quadrupling bonuses for the rest of its staff, to £1.9bn.
Yorkshire-born Cryan, who took charge in 2015, said this was a one-off reward to keep staff after years of tight cost controls, and would not be repeated unless performance is strong.
