SHIRE boss Flemming Ornskov saw his pay halve to £3.7m last year. The chief executive of the Irish pharma firm pocketed a £1.2m salary and about £2.5m in other bonuses.

This was down from £7.5m in 2016, according to the annual report yesterday.

It comes after shareholders revolted against Ornskov’s £15m pay package in 2015, with nearly half opposing the 25pc increase at the time.

The Dane has been boss since 2013. He has 55,546 shares, which are worth £1.6m.
