Time to let go
I WELCOME the calls to legalise suicide clinics in Guernsey (Mail). However, once again old fossils at the BMA are against it. Will the politicians be brave enough to pass this law while the powerful medical lobby say otherwise?
We must stop seeing death as a failure and allow people to be released from their suffering.
My husband died at Dignitas last year, with me holding his hand. It was a ‘good’ death.
But instead of having to go to Switzerland, he should have been allowed to die in his own home surrounded by all those who loved him — that would have been a ‘great’ death.
