SCRATCHING THE SURFACE

THIS all started with the premeditated scratching of the ball with a piece of sandpaper. People have been coming up with all sorts on social media about chewing gum, mints and suncream. They’re all just to shine the ball. That’s the equivalent of driving at 32mph in a 30 zone. They’re not damaging the condition of it — a big difference in levels of ‘tampering’.
