Berahino banished to Under 23s by Lambert for turning up late

PAUL LAMBERT has sent Saido Berahino to train with Stoke’s Under 23s after growing exasperated at the striker’s poor time-keeping. Berahino trained with the youngsters yesterday having reported late for a match on Easter Monday. Stoke have a strict code of conduct and this latest indiscretion by Berahino points to a bleak future under Lambert. As well as being exiled for showing up late, the 24-year-old was fined. Despite spite a promising start to his career, Berahino (right) has not scored a senior goal for two years.
