Too hot? Just ‘shrobe’!
IN the baking heat yesterday, Meghan introduced a whole new level of style to the Royal Family, writes Mail fashion expert Fiona McIntosh.
The bride-to-be wore a structured jacket across her shoulders, a popular trend known as ‘shrobing’ – that’s shoulder robing, Your Majesty. Adopted by fashion editors decades ago, the style is now becoming popular with celebrities as well.
Meghan matched the £ 82 Camilla and Marc jacket with a £1,450 Altuzarra pinstripe dress. The outfit was spot on for the weather. It’s not easy working out what to wear in a sudden, flaming burst of spring sunshine. Yet that strappy dress was smart enough to suit the occasion and breezy enough to be comfortable in the heat.
It was in stark contrast to Princess Eugenie, who looked utterly bizarre in an ill-advisedly short dress and her favourite baggy suede panto boots (Saint Laurent, £850)... despite the 25 degree heat.
