Matthew Wyles, 59 CEO, Hampshire Trust Bank

-

MATTHEW Wyles has taken over as boss of Hampshire Trust Bank. Wyles, 59, was on Nationwide’s board from 2007 until 2013 before leaving to work at mortgage firm Castle Trust. He was chairman of the Council of Mortgage Lenders for two years.

He is known for his outspoken views, once slamming the City watchdog for what he called its ‘Nanny knows best’ approach.

He started at Hampshire yesterday, which focuses on commercial mortgages and finance for developers.
