Glamour couple who could beat curse of Strictly

STRICTLY Come Dancing is famous for wrecking contestants’ relationships as they find their chemistry with their dance partners spilling into their private lives.

But it seems the ‘Curse of Strictly’ could be avoided for once with the casting of the first pair who are already a couple. Emmerdale star Anthony Quinlan will reportedly be teamed with his professional dancer girlfriend Dianne Buswell (pictured together right) for the next series. Miss Buswell, 28, joined the Strictly professionals last year and was introduced to Quinlan, 33, by contestant Gemma Atkinson, his former Emmerdale co-star.

A TV source told The Sun: ‘Dianne and Anthony are excited by the prospect of being the first ever couple to dance together from the start of a series. Bosses think they’d be a massive draw and really rev up the competition.

‘Anthony still needs to confirm Emmerdale to give him time off for rehearsals. He’s hoping he can convince them it would be great coverage for the soap. Dianne thinks the gimmick will guarantee her a place in the professionals.’ A spokesman for Strictly declined to comment. An Emmerdale spokesman there ‘are no plans for Anthony to do Strictly’.
