Yasmin Le Bon blasts ‘no frills over 40’ Shulman
Model Yasmin le Bon has hit back at former Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman for claiming that women over 40 should be banned from wearing frills and bows.
‘I wear plenty of them. I think women should be able to wear whatever they want,’ the 53-yearold tells me at the Maison Alaia store launch in New Bond Street. ‘Anyway, it changes daily. I could go from wearing a man’s suit to a tutu.
‘People should feel free to express themselves however they want. We do feel free anyway — especially english people.’
Shulman ruffled feathers when she said frilly fabrics look ‘frightful’ on older women.
