Gunners Enrique blow

- SAMI MOKBEL

ARSENAL are reluctant to pay their next boss as much as Arsene Wenger’s £8.5million a year. Money will be tight at the emirates this summer, with only £50m to spend on new players. Wenger is one of the best-paid managers in england, but the Gunners are apprehensive about making such a significant financial commitment to their next boss. the stance casts doubt over some of their big-name managerial targets. Former Barcelona boss Luis enrique is a leading candidate, but he wants £15m a year. Arsenal are considering younger managers, such as Mikel Arteta and Patrick vieira, who are likely be more cost-effective options. Jurgen Klopp’s no 2 Zeljko Buvac is the latest to have been linked with the job. the Bosnian is set to leave Liverpool and Arsenal head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has a good working relationship with Buvac after their time to together at Borussia Dortmund. Mislintat is likely to be interested in Buvac in some capacity, but it remains to be seen whether he is a genuine contender for the top job.
