CONTE HINTS HE’S LEAVING

- SAMI MOKBEL

ANTONIO CONTE has given the clearest indication yet that he expects to leave Chelsea at the end of the season. The Italian said his future will become clear shortly after the FA Cup final against Manchester United on May 19. ‘There are only two weeks and this season will finish, and you will know if there is a different situation or if you see me again next season,’ said Conte. ‘I think that in this decision there are always two parties to take the decision — not only one.’ Chelsea need to beat Huddersfield tonight to put pressure on Tottenham for fourth place and Champions League qualification. And Conte dodged questions about whether it would be his final home game in charge of Chelsea. ‘I am totally focused on the present and that is now to finish the season in the best possible way with my players because our fans deserve this,’ said the 48-year-old, who led Chelsea to the title last year in his debut season at the club. If his team win and Spurs lose at home to Newcastle, Chelsea will replace their London rivals in fourth spot before the final round of fixtures. Chelsea go to Newcastle on Sunday while Spurs host Leicester. Conte admitted he would much rather be in Tottenham’s position. He added: ‘There is a bit of disappointment because this season we dropped many points in a stupid way against teams, especially in games when we dominated and created many chances.’
