THE two-part series VICTORIA WOOD — FROM SOUP TO NUTS (RADIO 4, 11.30AM) is crammed full of unheard comic gems — many from the late Victoria Wood’s own archives. The actor and comedian Rebecca Front, who was inspired by Victoria’s brand of humour, has been given access to archive material, including boxes of battered cassette tapes made by Victoria herself (pictured). Rebecca plays the tapes and tells the story of a much-missed star.

THE close-harmony singers who make up Ladysmith Black Mambazo added many new members to their fan club after their sweet-voiced singing at the Queen’s birthday concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Tonight, this long-standing a cappella group from South Africa will be performing a session on MUSIC PLANET (RADIO 3, 11PM).
