VODAFONE’S Italian chief is standing down after ten years at the helm. The 56-year-old’s announcement came on the back of £2.5bn profits and a £16bn deal to acquire Liberty Global’s cable networks in Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania.

Successor Nick Read has big shoes to fill.
