Her poignant tribute to the Unknown Warrior

-

MEGHAN’S bouquet rests on the tomb of the Unknown Warrior as she follows a poignant royal tradition.

The grave at Westminster Abbey holds the remains of a First World War soldier who has come to symbolise the nation’s war dead.

The bouquet, tied with a delicate pink ribbon, has been placed at the bottom of the grave, right, and will stay there until it wilts.

The Queen Mother started the royal wedding tradition of having flowers left at the grave in 1923 – three years after the soldier’s body was brought from France.
