Charity is no bargain

i’M GLAd unwanted things get reused, but i am troubled by the proliferat­ion of charity shops in our high Streets.

Charity has become a whole new industry. Some of those collecting doorstep donations get their cut and, unlike the volunteers in the shops, staff running the charity are paid salaries. how much is left over for the needy?
