Truly Irresistible Rioja Crianza, £6.99, Co-op THE Rioja region in Spain is arguably its most famous — and for good reason when you find wines like this. This has been aged in oak adding a smoky, spicy note to the red fruit flavours. FOOD PAIRING: Lamb burgers

ROSE WINE

Tanners French Rose 2017, £8.40, Tanners BRILLIANT no-nonsense rose from the Cotes de Gascogne region in southwest France, this is a blend of six red grapes. It’s ripe, robust and gorgeous, stuffed with strawberry and redcurrant flavours.

Champagne Delacourt Rose Brut, £30, M&S THIS has been made exclusively for M&S by a very smart champagne house and is as bright in colour as it is in flavour. With cheerful cherry and raspberry, it’s refreshingly perky with abundant bubbles.
