Do you have a £3,000 drinks stash hidden in the cabinet?

-

IF you wonder where all your money goes, have a look in your drinks cabinet.

The average Brit has between £1,000-£3,000 worth of alcohol hidden away at home, according to a poll.

It says we spend an average of £100 every month ‘building up a stash’ of drinks, with spirits, posh wines and artisan beers the big favourites.

And the drinks trolley, a musthave in the 1970s, is rolling back into our homes, with nearly half of us showing off our drinks collections this way rather than storing them in cupboards.

The poll of 1,000 adults, by artisan gin makers Didsbury Gin, found that the average Brit has 12 bottles of spirits, seven bottles of wine, two bottles of prosecco, one bottle of champagne and six bottles of craft beer.

It also said we are snapping up fancy glasses such as highballs, champagne flutes, cocktail shakers and martini glasses.

Liam Manton, of Didsbury Gin, said: ‘With the amount of different premium alcohols and spirits consumers are buying, it’s no wonder that the amount people have stored in their homes is up to so much.’
