Roseanne emerges from hiding after racist tweet storm
SHE’S kept a low profile since her racist tweet led to the collapse of her multi-million dollar empire.
But Roseanne Barr finally emerged from hiding on Thursday – before returning to Twitter to say she had ‘begged’ the president of the Disney-ABC Television Group not to cancel her show Roseanne and let her ‘make amends’. The comment has since been deleted.
The 65-year-old, wearing a baseball cap and casual clothing, was seen puffing on a cigarette while engaged in an intense phone conversation in her native Utah.
Asked to comment on the fallout of her controversial tweet, Miss Barr simply said: ‘I believe in one law for all people, I love all people, have a nice day.’
The Roseanne wshow as axed on Tuesday after a tweet by Miss Barr in which she compared former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett, who is black, to an ape. ‘If muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby = vj,’ she wrote.
There is now speculation her co- stars could do their own spin-off show. Variety reported there were ‘extremely preliminary discussions among key players’.
