Two police officers knifed
TWO police officers are in a serious condition in hospital after they were stabbed while responding to a 999 call.
Colleagues praised the ‘incredible bravery’ of the pair – a male who was knifed in the neck and a woman probationer who needed treatment to arm wounds. A 43-year-old man was arrested and is also being treated in hospital.
Police Scotland said the officers were injured in Greenock, Renfrewshire, yesterday morning. Assistant Chief Constable Bernard Higgins said he had been ‘blown away by the courage’ of the staff hurt in the incident.
