EARTH UP POTATOES

MAINCROP and secondearly potatoes will benefit from a final earthing up. This is especially important where early planted tubers were damaged or checked by the abnormally late cold spells this year.

Work along the rows, gently pulling up soil around the stems, leaving a gully or channel between the rows. Piling soil round the lower parts of the stems will stimulate further tuber production and increase your yields.
