Apple moves £300m
ONE of Apple’s UK-based sales and marketing arms is set to hand over £300m to its Irish business.
Apple Europe Ltd, which has a London HQ and employs 791 staff, agreed to pay the dividend to Cork-based Apple Operations Europe in April.
It comes after Apple was accused of funnelling cash to Ireland to reduce its UK profits and pay less tax. Apple’s British subsidiaries had to pay an extra £218m in tax this year after audits by tax officials.
Apple Europe says it paid £ 13.7m tax on £93m in profits during the six months to September 30.
