He has raised eyebrows in the past with his multiple trips abroad.
And one can only wonder how senior courtiers will view the posting on social media of a photograph of Prince Andrew taken in a private area of Buckingham Palace.
The photo appeared on Princess eugenie’s Instagram account and showed her father, who has earned the nickname Air Miles Andy, in his military garb ahead of Saturday’s Trooping the Colour.
It is believed the picture was

taken in the hallway outside the prince’s offices, in an area not normally open to members of the public.
The Duke of York was taking part in the parade for the first time in his new role as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards, after taking over from Prince Philip. He had been learning to ride for the event and had apparently been quite nervous about his first public performance.
eugenie captioned the snap: ‘A wonderful and proud day celebrating Her Majesty’s birthday and @hrhthedukeofyork for his first Trooping The Colour as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards #troopingthecolour.’ While the Queen and other members of the royal family have social media accounts run for them by their PR teams, no other senior royal has made their personal Instagram account visible to the public.
eugenie, 28, who is ninth in line to the throne, made her account public in March. Since then she has posted several ‘throwback’ photos showing her and sister Beatrice as children with their parents.
Her post about Andrew has attracted more than 40,500 ‘likes’ and 500 messages of support. One follower wrote: ‘even princesses take pictures of their dads. Absolutely love this.’
However, her decision to post a private picture taken in the palace may give some cause for concern. The Duchess of Sussex was forced to close down her Twitter and Instagram feeds before she married to prevent her being accused of invading her own privacy.
